Jobe Santiago is charged with murder following the Sept. 6 killing of Angie Aristy near 300 Howard St., the Essex County District Attorney. He is being tried as an adult.
A second teenager was charged with assault with an attempt to rob in the killing, the prosecutor said.
Aristy's friends and family posted several memorials to the woman on social media following her killing. Many wrote she was funny and kind and would go out of her way to help others.
A GoFundMe created for her raised nearly $3,500. They were only asking for $2,500.
